Completely optional history and personality section. YOU ARE ALLOWED TO SKIP THIS!:
The Elevator Pitch Personality And History: Chica the Chicken is a support character. She's a member of the band of which Freddy Fazbear is the lead singer and the de facto star. As Glamrock Chica, she's a cheerful, bubbly guitarist with an intense work ethic, a ~passion for fitness~, and a tendency to chow down at night. Her signature attraction is Mazercise, an exercise-themed puzzle maze that is a pain in the aardvark to solve within the actual game itself. But there's also low-key theming present for Chica in the cupcake bakery and pizza oven areas, so this little birdie likes to eat!
The Lore/Other FNAF Points:
We don't have Actual Canon Word of God for how much of The Lore (tm) of prior FNAF installments applies here, so I'm applying the following:
- She is a robot, not a ghost. (Canon Supportable)
- She got possessed by a ghost/virus, that one time, but it's fine! It's all fine now! (Isn't it?) (Canon Supportable)
- She is still struggling with the fact that it felt kind of powerful and awesome to scare kids. Like, to death! (Headcanon Territory)
Please list and explain the three worst (morally) things your character has ever done:
- If Chica catches you, it's game over: death by jumpscare. (Canon)
- The game implies 9 kids "go missing" AFTER Gregory in one of the Bad Endings. An unknown number of kids have already "gone missing" before Gregory. At least some of those disappearances could be her work. (Canon Supportable)
- "Sing" with such OP tech that it unleashed robot mayhem, property damage, and injuries to 20+ guests, getting a bunch of people fired and triggering at least a dozen lawsuits.(Canon)
- Moral weakness: gluttony. When she's "hungry", she will "eat" (try to chomp and ingest) anything that moves, and some things that don't move. Including pizza, nachos, fries, cookies, and "pizza"--honey, that's garbage. If you're between her and her pizza, she might eat you! She does not need to eat; she's a robot. This is some kind of compulsive/glitched behavior, and if she bites you, it will maim. (Canon Supportable)
Please list and explain the three best (morally) things your character has ever done.:
- She is the only member of the Glamrocks who stops performing in the intro to check on Freddy when he's in trouble. (Canon Supportable)
- Give out party passes to kids on their birthdays! (Canon)
- Most of her canon voicelines are comfort/concern-for-others based, suggesting that when she's not being all Devouring and Scary, she's pretty nice. ("Let me take you to your parents...Our friendly security staff can help!" etc.)(Canon)
Please put the six things above on a timeline relevant to each other:
- Hand Out Party Passes is something she does periodically/multiple times
- Being Supportive and Nice also, more of a personality feature/continuous
- Cause STAFFbot Mayhem With Her Glitchy Voice
- Kill some kids (?) definitely be one of the reasons some kids are ~missing~
- EAT GARBAGE
- Check on Freddy!
- EAT GARBAGE
- Attempt to chase and kill this annoying child in particular
And here we are, at the present day.
Do you consider your character a hero, an anti-hero, a good aligned side kick, a bystander, a victim, a fence sitter, a mercenary, an evil aligned side kick, a villain, or something else? Why?:
Evil-aligned sidekick with Left No-Choice. It's debatable how much agency she has, because of the Glitchtrap virus. She arguably shouldn't want to hurt anyone, but she also seems to enjoy taunting Gregory at points. ("Lost boy~ over here~"..."No more games!" etc.) There is definite tension in the question, "How much of this is the Glitchtrap virus, and how much has Chica discovered it's kinda fun to torment the guests? Especially the guests with delicious pizza." And that's something that would be cool to explore.
The Glitchtrap Virus is a widely-accepted fanon reason for why the Glamrock animatronics want to tackle and kill the player. The virus itself is canon, but it's debatable whether the Glamrocks have it.
Let's show our work for the idea that the animatronics are basically good and loyal and kind, or at least focused on children's entertainment and the experience of joy, but victims of an evil outside force. This involves investigating the less bonkers parts of The Lore.
We have two possible routes here:
1) The animatronics have the Glitchtrap virus, oh noes!
2) Officer Vanessa, the security guard, put the animatronics in attack mode.
Possible Route One: It's The Glitch Mob Virus
THIS CONTAINS BOTH SPECULATION AND SPOILERS FOR FNAF 9: SECURITY BREACH
William Afton is the series' central villain, an evil Walt Disneylike figure who built Freddy and friends and their fun-filled radical pizza kingdom...so that he could personally lure kids to their doom dressed up as
A springlock suit is basically a wearable compact animatonic, compressed into suit form by the tightly wound innovative springlock system. With the locks engaged, the robotic bits are super compressed into a flexible mascot suit. It's an attraction and a costume in one! Impressive tech! Impressive savings!
One lethal downside! If you trip the locks, the robotics inside all activate simultaneously, instantly expanding to their full form factor and crushing anything inside.
So, Afton is killed by karma, when the ghosts of the children he murdered trap him in the very suit he used to lure them along, and, well...squish.
Of course, this means that now he is an angry ghost and rotting partially-robot corpse (and sometime tumblr stinkyman) who lurks in the Pizzeria. Afton haunts multiple versions of the attraction over the years, whether that's Fazbear Frights (the 'ironic reopening' Halloween Horror Nights style, which of course goes TERRIBLY AWRY because the ghosts are real and also not hecking around) or the VR Experience.
The VR Experience is home to Glitchtrap, malicious code that is part regular virus, and part Afton's consciousness. It wants to infect you, the player, and so escape the VR world by possessing you.
That player character is heavily suggested by both unlockable canon extras and fan theory to be Vanessa, the guard in charge of night security at the Mega Pizzaplex during the events of Security Breach.
AND HERE ARE THE SPOILERS:
Because Vanessa is under Glitchtrap's virus/ghostly influence, she dresses up as an inescapable and unkillable supporting villain, Vanny the Rabbit, and running popular fanon basically decided, "Well, obviously, the Glamrocks are infected too!"
There's some support for this in the Afton Ending of the game:
Suprise! The entire Mega Pizzaplex? Was built on top of
Instead of trying to kill Gregory/the player/you, Afton barricades himself in an outer hallway and, and in true villain fashion, sends in others to do the killing for him: the shattered husks of Chica, Roxy, and Monty! They attack relentlessly unless you shut the doors on them or hide. You can only hide from Roxy Wolf, which is terrifying, sources dude trust me--unless she gets stuck, and then it's unintentional Looney Tunes time. Anyway!
Afton will also try to possess Freddy: when Freddy's eyes are purple, DO NOT approach. This is 1:1 canon; Freddy will say things like, "He is trying to take control! I can feel it!" and so on. He also mentions, "My friends...are here!...They are angry, and confused..." Which can be taken to mean
a) the shattered Glamrocks are also under Afton's supernatural glitch attack influence.
b) that...thing...in the hallway contains vengeful ghosts that want to FIGHT AFTON (conveniently offscreen for now).
c) some secret, completely unexplained third thing, that afaik Reddit is still occasionally foaming about.
Therefore, a) is at least reasonable, and might even be canon, but we won't know that until Ruin DLC or other stuff comes out.
It's also possible it will linger forever unexplained. That happens A Lot in this canon in general.
Possible Route Two: Vanessa Made Them Do It
There's an equally plausible and much less fancy reason why the Glamrocks are chasing you:
Vanessa puts them on alert. "Okay, look. We're like fifteen minutes from closing, and some kid is sneaking around backstage. If you see anything, notify me immediately...I already alerted the others. Now, go back to your room."
The general idea of the ~animatronics getting a bit quirky at night~ is proud tradition at this point, and one supportable theory is that they were programmed with a separate Night Mode, to kind of act as backup security. So, with Vanessa herself under some unwholesome influences, it's not a huge stretch to imagine that she deactivated their safety protocols and put them on high alert, thereby engaging jumpscare-kill mode.
That's pretty much it, although I can answer additional questions that this might fork. Thanks for your consideration!
Do you think your character should start on the Isle or in Auradon? Why?:
The Isle. Canon reasoning: By the end of the game, Chica's still trying to murder Gregory, even in the hidden ending.
Which of those two would you prefer your character to start in?:
The Isle. She'd be thrilled to be surrounded by trash, tbh. I smell pizza!
Are you still interested in having this character in this game at this time if that preference is not met?:
Absolutely! Sometimes stuff changes, and that's part of the fun!
Powers and Abilities:
- "Sing" to stun or disorient other robots/electronics (powerful distorted voicebox). This isn't really a power; it's a side-effect present in her hardware. It's part of her body.
- SHREDS A MEAN GUITAR. Given that Monty has special claws specifically to "play the bass better", it's at least canon-supportable that they can play their instruments.
- Aerobics. Now that's the smell of fitness!
- Robot strength of unspecified above-human degree.
- Made of metal-and-plastic parts that pinch and cut unwary chompable humans. :D
What clothing/items did your character arrive with? (See rules and FAQ for what is allowed, feel free to ask if you are unsure):
- Aerobic outfit (the clothes she came in with)
- electric guitar
- Carl Cupcake cupcake figurine JUSTICE FOR CHICA, LET HER HAVE HER CUPCAKE (ahem)
Optional- What do you have to keep in mind when playing this character?:
- She's the sweet one! Until she's hangry.
- Still capable of bad things. (Nice is different than good~)
- Strictly Headcanon Stuff: Chica was pre-programmed with a working knowledge of the major popular music hits from the last fifty years, and is capable of learning. So she's heard of things like The Beach Boys and Fortnite, because she has to be able to engage with customers in the 3-12 year old range, but still reassure/joke with their Boomer (grand?)parents. But she still doesn't understand tiktok. This is for my convenience and enjoyment as a player, so that she can make dated pop culture references as a learning base, and also doesn't spend a week figuring out what trees are.
What mod candy, if any, does your character bring? (Aka what elements would you really like to see us play with?):
- It's pure speculation, somewhat driven by the upcoming "Ruin" DLC, but Chica is probably still under the influence of the Glitchtrap virus-ghost. If that's triggered, she'll snap into chase-and-eat murder mode regardless of what she wants.
- DO NOT LET HER HAVE A N Y Monty's Mystery Mix Pizza-Scented Slushy Syrup. She has attacked guards, STAFF bots, and guests for it, and once dove to her doom in a trash compactor to get more. (NOM NOM NOM NOM.) There's a handy visual of the forbidden thing she absolutely must never have right here in this link.
- Finding all four flavors of the FizzyFaz
lifting drinkSodas unlocks a speed/sprint upgrade. Hers is pink lemonade! Mmmm.
What else do you think the mods should know about your character or their canon?:
- That nonsense is wild, don't go in there alone.
- I do plan on shattering her at some point! CANON UPDATE :D
- Honestly there's a bunch of Wikis but I'm only playing from This One Installment/This One Game and skipping THE LORE for now.
Possible canon update routes include:
- SHATTERED CHICA
- Embracing some of THE LORE (i.e. Chica's actually, technically, the ghost of a little girl named Susie, who WENT MURDEROUS because of how she died.)
- And whatever may happen in the unreleased "Ruin" DLC. Can't speculate, because it does not yet exist. (Early/Mid 2023)
Any questions?:
- What's your favorite pizza?
